Stephanie + Scot : A New Orleans Wedding

Welcome back to the blog!  I have made a commitment to myself to blog more regularly because I’ve got soooo much I need to blog!  I’m not perfect – but I’m just going to keep trying to spend a little blog time every week!  A lot of effort goes into putting together these posts so that anyone who looks at the photos can get a really good idea of what the feeling and events were that took place for that day!  That’s my hope at least!  Anyway, on with today’s post!

From I’m guessing the very beginning, Scot said this “was the most fantastic woman he ever met, his rock”. This from being the dark days right after Katrina. . . After meeting Stephanie, it was obvious that the feelings were mutual. Together, they brought out the very best in each other. Thank you for capturing such a life changing day for these two.

For me, I cherish the friendship that we have!! They remind me that there truly is love in this world. Deep, true love!!

Jacqueline – I love this blog roll! I love the way you put the pictures together and crop and color them. As I told you the other day, it really makes me look forward to putting together an album with you. We are so happy you photographed our very special day.
Judy – thank you so much for your kind words!

These pictures are priceless! I know that you taking these pictures meant the world to both my aunt and my uncle. I am so happy that they are together and these pictures are absolutely beautiful!!!

Peacock Feathers : Sneak Peek of A New Orleans Wedding

There’s no denying the beauty of peacock feathers!  The very saturated jewel tones are stunning so it isn’t surprising to see these beauties incorporated into weddings!  One such peacock themed wedding, I recently had the honor of shooting, will be featured on the blog in the near future but I just thought I would share a photo that illustrates the gorgeous colors!  No lie, I am a color addict and colors like this make me swoon!!!  There is safety in numbers and if you’re also a color addict, leave a comment below so that we can know we’re not alone!!!

Happy Wednesday!

Katie & Stephen : A New Orleans Wedding : Part 2

Following up with Part 2 of Katie and Stephen’s fabulous wedding!  In Part 1, (which you can see here if you missed it) consisted of Katie and her bridesmaids getting ready at La Pavillon.  Next we continue with Stephen and his groomsmen at the Pere Marquette hotel.  As a joke, Stephen thought it would be funny to put on a yellow ruffle tuxedo shirt, pose for some pictures, and then text them to Katie!  I think the guys thought that she would freak out thinking there was a mixup at the tux shop but I think she caught on to the prank!  Nonetheless, it was humorous to watch Stephen pose for some photos in the shirt!  That pretty much summed up the whole mood of the entire wedding because all of the guys were goofing off and ready to have a good time!  Of course we love that because it makes for great pictures!!!  Thanks to Sarah Kelly for capturing these photos of the guys!

After the ceremony at St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church, everyone piled into the limo bus and you would have thought we were already at the reception!  Everyone was in high spirits and I think you can tell from the pictures!  When we got to the reception at the Federal Ballroom, the band Az-Izz started off with high energy dance music and everyone was on the floor right from the beginning!  More about the band and the party in Part 3!  Anyway hope you enjoy these and stay tuned!

Great pictures…… captured and candid! You did an outstanding job but you had beauty and handsome clowns to work with….and a good time was had by all!

Jacqueline Kay - January 13, 2012 - 9:31 AM

Thanks so much Patricia! I think it was impossible to not have a good time at that wedding!

Sara Kelley - January 18, 2012 - 6:32 PM

LOVE the pictures! That was a fun wedding!

Jacqueline Kay - January 18, 2012 - 9:25 PM

Thanks Sara! I’m so glad you were there to help me too! Definitely one of the most fun weddings!

Bling Bling!

Truth be told, I kind of dig the bling!  Just a little!!  I’m distracted by shiny sparkly things!  This being said, don’t be surprised if you end up with several ring shots if I photograph your wedding!  Here are just a few of my recent favorite shots!  (Note – these are from three different weddings!)

Ok so this one isn’t a ring but oh how it sparkles!!!! I love!!!
