I remember the first time I met with Stephanie.  We sat and chatted about this very special wedding that she has been planning and I remember thinking that it was going to be unlike any other wedding I had shot before!  It definitely turned out to be the case!  Stephanie took a lot of time and effort to put together an incredible wedding and I think you will agree when you see the photos!  The ceremony took place at St. John Lutheran Church on Canal Street in Mid City.  Mid City is a special for Stephanie and Scot, not only because they live there, but also because Scot is an owner of the amazingly popular Katie’s Restaurant!  This restaurant is a celebrity in it’s own right as it’s been featured on The Food Network and is known locally as one of the best restaurants in Mid City!  Trust me, I am a foodie and every time I eat there, the food is awesome!  If you haven’t been yet, make plans to go for lunch ASAP!

Food gets me a little sidetracked…..Anywho!  Needless to say, the ceremony was beautiful and afterwards, everyone headed over to the UNO Lakefront Arena to be greeted by Smitty Dee’s Brass Band and charbroiled oysters!!!  The smell was incredible, believe me!!!  The entire wedding was very detailed and thoughtfully planned out by both Stephanie and her day of coordinator Tamar Gregorian from Graceful Event Productions.  Not only did Stephanie and Scot have Tamar help keep the day organized, they also had her create a spectacular color coordinated candy table!  Not only was it delicious, it matched perfectly with the entire wedding!  The wedding was a blast and I think it’s obvious that everyone thoroughly enjoyed the night!

It was amazing to be able to photograph Stephanie and Scot’s wedding!!!  I can’t thank them enough for allowing me to photograph one of the most important days of their life!  Congratulations again to Stephanie and Scot!  I wish yall all the best and a wonderful happily ever after!!   (Now I’m hungry!)

]]> http://jacquelinekay.com/blog/lu-jeb-a-new-orleans-engagement-session/feed/ 0 Katie & Stephen : A New Orleans Wedding : Part 2 http://jacquelinekay.com/blog/katie-stephen-a-new-orleans-wedding-part-2/ http://jacquelinekay.com/blog/katie-stephen-a-new-orleans-wedding-part-2/#comments Fri, 23 Dec 2011 21:26:45 +0000 Jacqueline Kay http://jacquelinekay.com/blog/?p=3688 Following up with Part 2 of Katie and Stephen’s fabulous wedding!  In Part 1, (which you can see here if you missed it) consisted of Katie and her bridesmaids getting ready at La Pavillon.  Next we continue with Stephen and his groomsmen at the Pere Marquette hotel.  As a joke, Stephen thought it would be funny to put on a yellow ruffle tuxedo shirt, pose for some pictures, and then text them to Katie!  I think the guys thought that she would freak out thinking there was a mixup at the tux shop but I think she caught on to the prank!  Nonetheless, it was humorous to watch Stephen pose for some photos in the shirt!  That pretty much summed up the whole mood of the entire wedding because all of the guys were goofing off and ready to have a good time!  Of course we love that because it makes for great pictures!!!  Thanks to Sarah Kelly for capturing these photos of the guys!

After the ceremony at St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church, everyone piled into the limo bus and you would have thought we were already at the reception!  Everyone was in high spirits and I think you can tell from the pictures!  When we got to the reception at the Federal Ballroom, the band Az-Izz started off with high energy dance music and everyone was on the floor right from the beginning!  More about the band and the party in Part 3!  Anyway hope you enjoy these and stay tuned!
